We contribute in improving the society at large by helping underprivileged sections and reaching out to those in need. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programmes, the Anthea Group supports the following organizations and initiatives:
Missionaries of Charity (Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra): A charitable institution, founded by Mother Teresa, runs a hospice to take care of terminally ill patients and destitute women.
Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital (Mumbai, Maharashtra): Contributes to the medical expenses of poor patients.
Pride India (Mumbai): An NGO that assists poor rural communities through their child development and health care programs.
Jan Vikas Society (Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra): A charitable trust committed to the care and development of street children and ragpickers in Navi Mumbai.
Ma Niketan Society (Thane, Maharashtra): A trust that takes care of children, especially girls, who are abandoned by their parents due to abject poverty.
All Kerala Association for Mentally Retarded (Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala).
Aluva Janseva (Aluva, Kerala): A charitable organization that runs a shelter for street children to prevent child exploitation.
Upgradation of primary school (Alibaug, Maharashtra): A project undertaken in association with the Rotary Club of Bombay Chembur West Charitable Trust.
Building of village roads: The Anthea Group has contributed to building roads and other amenities in villages such as Roth in Raigad district.
Empowering the differently abled
In 2011, Anthea, together with an F & F multinational, participated in a joint study with the National Association for the Blind, to determine whether visually impaired people had a superior sense of smell, which could qualify them for job opportunities in the fragrance industry.
The results of the study turned out to be overwhelmingly positive and a course named COFVI was set up in a college in Mumbai to train blind people in odour discrimination.
Keeping this in mind, Anthea supports Mr. Ravi S. Vanniyar and Mr. Shankar Jaibhaya in their efforts to earn and live a life of dignity. Though lacking sight, they are gifted with an enhanced sense of smell, which is a great asset in their role as Quality Assurance perfumers in Anthea. Anthea values their contributions and commitment to our organization.
