Our Origin

In 1990, my parents and I migrated from Kashmir Valley to Jammu Division due to turmoil and stayed at Tikri (Udhampur) in a rented accommodation. From there, we shifted to the government established migrant camp for Kashmiri Pandits at Mishriwala, where we were provided a canvas-tent accommodation.

I was a highly-qualified but unemployed youth and started work in a private school. Meanwhile, the other camp dwellers (Kashmiri migrants) requested me to open a school for their children. To that purpose, the camp’s head officer, Sh. Ashok Ji (Camp Commandant), provided me 7 tents and thus, a tented school was established, for up to primary level, in the name of Public High School-Mishriwala. The school was inaugurated by Sh. Manohar Krishan Raina (Camp President), Sh. Jawahar Lal Peshin, Sh. Jawahar Lal Thaploo. The Chief Guest of the event was Principal of Govt. Higher Secondary School - Damana. Besides, Sarpanch of Mishriwalla also attended the function.

I applied for the recognition of the school thrice but no recognition was sanctioned to the school since it functioned under a tent. I then shifted it in a rented building in 1996. By then, the Govt. permitted the sanction for running the school up to primary classes. I purchased a piece of land for construction near the camp and completed it in 2005. The school was upgraded up to class 10th in 2009. The new school was inaugurated by the Sh. Vijay Bakaya (Chief Secretary), Sh. Ramesh Hangloo (Chairman, Pir Panchal and Radio Sharda), Sh. Ashok Ji, Sh. Manohar Krishan Raina and Sh. Triloki Nath Below.

Another function was organised by Sh. Ramesh Hangloo, where the chief guest was Dr. Jitendra Singh (Presently MOS in the PMO officer Govt. of India, New Delhi) and Sh. Amitabh Mattoo (Ex-Vice chancellor, Jammu University).

In 2011, the Govt. of India established a camp called ‘Jagti township’ at Jagti Nagrota near NH44, and all the existing camps were shifted to it including our own. The students studying in Public High School - Mishriwala also shifted to Jagti along with their parents. The inhabitants impressed upon me to open school for migrant students in Jagti. I started the school in a rented building. Again, the school was recognised by the Govt. and J&K Board of School Education Jammu up to class 8th in 2014. I purchased 2 kanals 10 marlas land for construction of the school building. The two-storeyed building was constructed and the third story needs funds for construction.

The school was recognised upto class 10th vide: Govt. Order No. 112/Edu of 2017 of 09-03-2017 and JKBOSE No. 01/Gen/Extension/March 2017 of 08-03-2017. The school was named according to Hindu Mythology HEE means Lord Ganesha and MAA means Goddess Saraswati. The school was inaugurated by Sh. Vijay Bakaya (Retd. Chief Secretary), Sh. Moti Koul (Social activist), Sh. Surender Kumar Bhat (Principal, Govt. Higher Secondary School - Nagrota) and Sh. Santosh Kumar (Principal, Govt. Higher Secondary School - Jagti). The school’s design was prepared by Sh. Surender Kumar Bhat (Retd. Chief Education Officer).
